In the project for connecting the DolWin gamma converter station, for the first time a cable system consisting of a highly flexible 155 kV high-voltage cable with solid-insulated, pluggable CONNEX size 6 connection system and gas-free epoxy resin joints from PFISTERER has been successfully tested and installed on an offshore platform.
The frequency of blackouts is increasing in many countries and the USA is no exception. This is due to the continued use of outdated power transformers that have been in service for decades, making them prone to failure. However, a new emergency concept will enable a power supply to be restored in a very short time.
PFISTERER has expanded its line of gas-free joints with the dry, pluggable CONNEX size 6 cast resin joint. The new cable connection for voltages of up to 170 kV is quick and easy to install, which is why it is particularly well suited to offshore assembly operations on ocean platforms and is compatible with versatile emergency mobile transformers.
