AVU Netz GmbH: Flexible transformer connections with CONNEX technology

The challenge

When updating its systems, AVU Netz GmbH was seeking a flexible and economical solution to efficiently integrate new 110/10 kV power transformers into various connection constellations of the AVU grid.

The solution

PFISTERER supplied the CONNEX plug-in connection system, which was permanently integrated into the new transformers. This universal solution allows the transformers to be flexibly connected at different locations as required without the need for costly conversions.

Special features

Transformers are connected differently at the Witten, Schwelm and Altenvoerde substations, with the CONNEX system providing maximum flexibility. At Witten, the transformer is connected to a gas-insulated switchgear, in Schwelm to an outdoor switchgear, and in Altenvoerde the system enables a safe and flexible connection through underside connections. This versatility ensures that the transformers are highly mobile and adaptable throughout the network.
